During festival season, a common problem is the lack of fixed Internet facilities at festival venues. Because these locations are often located outside city centers, in part because of nuisances, wired Internet is often not available here either. Augustinus, one of Leiden’s largest and oldest student associations, encountered this same problem while organizing their lustrum which takes place every 5 years. As also a Leiden organization, they came to Capestone for the temporary purchase of a 4G solution. Partly because of the solution provided, the organization of this large-scale event for over 5,000 people became a success.
Capestone was approached by the board of LVVS Augustinus. For their 130th anniversary and 26th lustrum, Augustinus was assigned a location called the Paardeweide by the City of Leiden. For this location, all provisions had to be made to accommodate over 5,000 people. A stable and secure Internet connection was part of this and essential for the organization to run smoothly. A functioning mobile Internet solution provided by Capestone allowed the organization to stay in touch with the board based in downtown Leiden. The temporary 4G Internet solution was also used for camera surveillance to monitor the site at night.
During the event, festival goers could enjoy performances by several great Dutch artists such as Dries Roelvink, Antoon, and Van Dik Hout. The performances were supported by LED screens controlled through Capestone’s 4G solution.
