OneCell system overview
CommScope’s OneCell system consists of multiple Radio Points distributed throughout a building. They are connected via standard Ethernet switches and cabling to a centralized Baseband Controller. Together, the radio points behave as one physical cell in the covered space.
By using shared transmission and reception between radio points, OneCell provides consistent coverage and high data rates in large offices and public spaces, whether the user is under one radio point or between radio points. A pooled baseband at the controller ensures that capacity is available to users regardless of whether they are uniformly dispersed or concentrated in specific areas (i.e., airport arrival area to departure gates). OneCell uses cellular virtualization to dynamically segment the coverage area based on user location and data demand. This results in more capacity without consuming additional spectrum resources or causing interference between users. Indoor & Rugged radio points, powered via standard PoE (IEEE802.3at & IEEE802.3bt) and LAN (Gigabit & Multi-rate) infrastructure simplifies deployment and ensures that the same single cell coverage is available inside and adjacent outdoor areas (e.g., bowl areas, parking lot)
CommScope Radio Points transmit and receive radio frequency (RF) signals over the air and perform some 1-layer baseband operations. This edge intelligence enables advanced features such as cellular virtualization, joint transmit/receive and user location awareness for emergency services. You can choose from two solutions for Radio Points, both available in indoor and rugged form.
- The RP5000 Series is a multi-carrier, multi-channel solution that supports up to four frequency bands simultaneously. It includes programmable logic, allowing operators to deploy their LTE services today and support future modulation schemes such as 5G NR through a software upgrade. The Commscope RP-5100i is an ONECELL® Multi-carrier, indoor Radio Point. It has up to 4 carriers and 8 internal antennas.
Private 4G/5G mobile network
A private LTE / 5G mobile network, as the name implies, is a non-public network owned or operated by an organization without the intervention of a mobile network operator (MNO) and the dependency and availability of those public networks. With a private mobile network, you ensure that you have control over the users, data traffic and devices on the network. With Commscope, Capestone provides a complete private mobile network consisting of hardware, network design, installation and a service level agreement through our own Network Operation Center.
