Largest photo provider chooses Capestone

CEWE was founded in 1961 by H.C. Heinz Neumüller, operator of a small photo store in Oldenburg, and since then it has come a long way and weathered various transitions in photography with flying colors. Indeed, more than 50 years later, CEWE is established in 24 European countries and is the largest European player in photo finishing. With 3,300 employees in 11 modern production labs, CEWE prints enough photos every year to – if you put them all together – go around the world 10 times. To be able to read the machines of CEWE’s Photo Kiosks, they looked at the possibilities of 4G mobile internet. This turned out to be very stable. The total solution was completed by Capestone with 4G hardware in combination with connectivity

Business Challenge

CEWE offers photo kiosks that can be found in various (retail) chains all over Europe. Mediamarkt, Albert Heijn and Jumbo are among their customers. Cees Klaassen, Service Coordinator OSF at CEWE Netherlands says: “These companies use the software and printing from CEWE. Their customers can order photos via the website or do this in the store. At the CEWE Photo Kiosk in the shop, you can very easily connect different mobile devices, in order to print your selected photos in the desired format, with or without editing. This is ideal since cell phones are full of photos with which little is done. We not only see an increase in the printing of photos from the cell phone, but also in the creation of photo books. Precisely because we have a camera at our fingertips via our phones, capturing moments is a must.” All Kruidvat branches also feature a Fotokiosk. Previously, CEWE’s photo kiosks used fixed internet via an analogue line to read out the machines. To save costs and become less dependent on the landline, CEWE started looking at other options.

Solution

4G LTE wireless interned proved to be a very good replacement of analogue line. For this solution, CEWE quickly found Teltonika’s 4G LTE routers in combination with connectivity. The biggest advantage of the routers is the fact that you can monitor all of them. Everything is under your own control. Via RMS, Teltokina’s Remote Management System, we can monitor and manage everything. This results in a low failure rate, which of course affects the costs and satisfaction of CEWE customers. By equipping the photo kiosks with a router to connect to the internet wirelessly via the 4G mobile network, CEWE is able to offer a complete total solution to retail chains.

Why Capestone and Teltonika?

“Capestone was actually immediately the party we thought of to supply the 4G routers. It is a company where I have personal contact with the employees, which is very pleasant. The routers were set up properly and the lines of communication are short if there are questions. You notice that Capestone and Teltonika also have a good relationship, because things are arranged quickly. The team is knowledgeable and specialized in their field”, Cees Klaassen, Service Coördinator OSF at CEWE .
