TL-SG116: Energy efficient switch
The new generation of TL-SG116 10/100/1000 Mbps desktop switch is equipped with the latest energy-saving technologies, which increase network capacity and significantly reduce power consumption. Power consumption is automatically adjusted according to connection status and cable length to reduce the network’s carbon footprint.
No power for unused ports
When a computer or network device is off, the associated connection of a traditional switch continues to consume significant amounts of power. The TL-SG116 can monitor the connection status of each connection and reduce the power consumption of connections that are inactive, consuming up to 72% less power.
Power budget by cable length.
Ideally, a shorter cable should consume less power and give less power loss. However, this is not the case for most devices as they consume the same amount of power through the cable. The TL-SG116 analyzes the length of the connected Ethernet cable and adjusts the power consumption accordingly.
Quality of Services and IGM Snooping
This switch supports Quality of Services (QoS) which enables prioritization within the network. It can be set to prioritize certain data, such as data for video applications, over standard Internet traffic. This ensures that a stable internet connection for the most important data is always guaranteed. In addition, the switch supports IGMP snooping to optimize multimedia traffic for IPTV, for example.
Plug & Play installation
The automatic functions of this gigabit switch enable plug-and-play installation without any problems. No configuration is required. Thanks to Auto MDI/MDIX no crossover cables are needed. Auto-negotiation on each port detects the connection speed of a network device (10, 100, or 1000 Mpbs) and automatically adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance.
