TL-SG105PE PoE+ management
The switch features 4 PoE+ ports compatible with 802.3af/at and supports 30W power allocation on each PoE port. The total PoE energy allocation of 65W for 4x gigabit PoE+ ports allows for many different applications, such as video surveillance for offices, student homes and small businesses. It is fully compatible with IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones, computers and printers.
Port Mirroring and VLAN
A special feature of this switch is Port Mirroring. With Port Mirroring, a copy of a switch port can be forwarded to another switch port to which a monitoring system is attached. This way, administrators can keep an eye on the network and detect any problems quickly. In addition, TL-SG105PE supports VLAN, which allows for virtual segregation in the network, such as when different departments are only allowed to access a certain part of the network.
Quality of Services
This switch supports Quality of Services (QoS) which allows priorities to be set within the network. It can be set to prioritize certain data, such as data for video applications, over standard Internet traffic. This guarantees a stable Internet connection for the most important data at all times.
Intelligent power management
The switch has a priority function that helps protect the system when the system power is off or overloaded. If the power consumption of all PoE PDs exceeds the PoE power budget, priority is arranged between PoE ports and the system turns off the power of the port with the lowest priority.
Power budget by cable length.
Ideally, a shorter cable should consume less power and give less power loss. However, this is not the case for most devices as they consume the same amount of power through the cable. The TL-SG105PE analyzes the length of the connected Ethernet cable and adjusts the power consumption accordingly.
Plug & Play Installation
The TP-Link Switch TL-SG105PE is easy to deploy and start using thanks to its Plug & Play installation. The auto-negotiation on each port senses the connection speed of a network device and automatically adjusts it for optimal compatibility and performance. Once connected with the power adapter, the switch is immediately ready for use.
