Energy efficient switch

When a computer or network device is off, the associated connection of a traditional switch continues to consume significant amounts of power. The TL-SG1024 can monitor the connection status of each connection and reduce the power consumption of connections that are inactive, consuming up to 40% less power.
Power budget by cable length
Ideally, a shorter cable should consume less power and give less power loss. However, this is not the case with most devices as they consume the same amount of power through the cable. The TL-SG1024 analyzes the length of the connected Ethernet cable and adjusts power consumption accordingly.
