Peplink Balance 580X
The Peplink Balance 580X is a versatile Multi-WAN router with a throughput of up to 1500 Mbps. It provides fast and stable connections and features 5 Gigabit WAN ports for wired internet and 5 Gigabit LAN ports for network devices. There is also 1 USB port so you can connect another USB 4G modem if necessary.
FlexModule Mini – expansion slot
If you want to use the Peplink Balance 580X in combination with mobile Internet, you can also place a FlexModule Mini (sold separately) in the expansion module slot. This expansion module contains 1 cellular modem with dual-SIM slot and is suitable for both 4G and 5G connections. If the existing (fixed) network fails, then the Peplink Balance 580X automatically switches to the mobile 4G or 5G network through Failover, so that your business processes can continue to run uninterrupted. Out-of-band management is also possible with the FlexModule Mini.
SpeedFusion
For blazing fast remote connectivity, the Peplink Balance supports SpeedFusion (includes 50 SpeedFusion peers, expandable to 500). This patented Peplink VPN technology for Multi-WAN environments bundles the bandwidth of all WAN connections, resulting in additional speed and stability. Furthermore, WAN smoothing is applied, where duplicate data packets are sent for optimal data transmission. This reduces the risk of packet loss and prevents you from having a dropped connection when a line goes down.
Load Balancing
Increase network data rates, reliability and flexibility and reduce connectivity costs with Peplink Internet Load Balancing technology. The Peplink Balance 580 can distribute traffic from various Internet connections and router data using seven intelligent algorithms:
- Lowest Latency; Get fast response time when loading applications
- Enforced; Restrict outbound traffic to a specific connection
- Persistence; No barriers to data traffic
- Least Used; Choose the best connection + bandwidth
- Weighted Balance; Distribute traffic over several connections
- Priority; Router traffic to a preferred connection
- Overflow; Redirect traffic when the connection has insufficient bandwidth
High Availability
If a company needs a connection that absolutely must not go down, two routers can be put in High Availability mode. In this mode, 1 router is on standby, taking over from the other router when needed.
Drop-in Mode
Thanks to Drop-in Mode, the existing network does not need to be modified to integrate the Peplink Balance 580X. This allows the Peplink Balance to be easily placed in an existing network, for example behind a firewall.
LAN Bypass
The built-in LAN Bypass keeps critical network traffic running when the Peplink 580X suddenly shuts down (for example, due to power outages). Traffic is then routed around the device from WAN5 to LAN1. These two network ports form a ‘bridge’ so that data traffic can still flow through.
